And did Dave get the hint and see his mysterious greetings? Of course, he in return wined and dined you, together with the obligatory red rose.
For my part I have received a Valentine Card for at least 40 years without fail, with beautiful wording that I make him read out aloud to me (sheepishly)…I never return the compliment because I think it would spoil the initiative he started without prompting all those years ago. Long after people believe married copies “get used to each other” there are always soft spots looking for a place to land.
